About Me

Michelle Kerridge Physiotherapist and Health Coach

Hi, I’m Michelle. I’m a Physiotherapist and Health Coach. I specialise in chronic pain management. I have over 15 years’ experience of working as a physiotherapist in the NHS. I have worked in outpatient clinics, on rehabilitation wards, in community and in palliative care.

 

​I spent my early career working in Derbyshire, visiting elderly patients at home. I then moved to Norfolk, where I gained experience working in adult neurological outpatient services. Here I predominantly saw patients recovering from strokes, or with long-term conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Disease.

​

I eventually went on to specialise in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. This is when I first became interested in the management of chronic pain. I trained with the Health Innovation Network to be able to deliver the ESCAPE-pain© programme. I delivered several successful groups which gave me valuable insight into the complex nature of chronic pain, and the incredible value of a holistic approach.

During the pandemic I was redeployed to work on a community hospital ward. This was a challenging but rewarding experience and it led me on to my role in palliative care.

I am extremely grateful for the opportunities I have had throughout my career so far, as this has made it possible for me to follow my dream of creating my own Physiotherapy and Health Coaching practise.

What’s your pain story?

Effective management of chronic pain requires, first and foremost, an understanding of your journey so far. This is why our first session together will start with exploring your “pain story”. When the pain started, what happened before and what has happened since.

 

Start where you are.

From here we can begin to look at how I can help you to move forward. We will explore what life looks like for you now and how this compares to what you want for your future.

 

Do you want to enjoy playing with your children or grandchildren? Do you want to enjoy days out with friends or family? Travel without pain limiting your options? Enjoy gentle exercise, improve your fitness or return to sport?

You don’t need to have big goals or ambitions, although it’s fine if you do!

I will be with you on your journey to achieving your goals, I will help you to navigate the challenges and join you in celebrating the successes, no matter how big or small.
